What You'll See at Mor Gabriel

The Main Church (Kubbeli Kilise — Church of the Dome):
The monastery's heart. Built in the early 5th century, with mosaics dating to 512 AD still visible on the ceiling. The golden dome is remarkable. This is one of the oldest church buildings in the world still in regular liturgical use.

The Church of the Virgin Mary (Theotokos):
The oldest section of the monastery. Small, intimate, extraordinary in its antiquity — some sections date to the original 4th-century construction.

The Bishop's Quarters and Monastic Cells:
Active living quarters — the community goes about its daily life while visitors are present. A reminder that this is not a museum but a living institution.

The Cemetery:
