Why autumn? Summer temperatures in Southeast Turkey exceed 40°C — walking at Göbeklitepe, Nemrut or Mardin's stone streets in that heat is exhausting. In September-October, temperatures fall to 22–28°C and the region becomes genuinely enjoyable.
